care routine
is right for
my pet?
The best time to begin a dental care routine is when pets are young, as this gets them used to it early.1 But regardless of your pet’s age or history, it’s never too late to start home dental care. Speak to your vet for advice, as they can help you establish an individual routine that’s tailor made for your pet.
See below for the types of products that may be suitable for pets at different stages of their dental journey.
Young puppies and kittens

This is the perfect time to start a dental care routine.
Sprays can be a good first step, as they minimise direct contact with your pet’s teeth and gums. You can then progress to products like wipes, which get your pet used to having their teeth and gums touched, and help you make the final step towards toothbrushing. However, if you don’t manage to progress all the way to toothbrushing, products like water additives can be a good add-on.
Unable to open your pet’s mouth?

Use the water additive or sticks daily.
Both can be used together for maximum effect on dental plaque and tartar.
Prefer not to brush every day

If you find toothbrushing tricky, you don’t have to do it every day.
On days you don’t brush, products like water additives can be used for extra effectiveness without extra effort.
Upcoming or recent dental surgery

Products like water additives can be helpful to soften tartar at least 1 month before the procedure. They can also be used after the procedure when brushing isn’t possible.
