STAP 1<\/h3>\n

Tandenpoetsen doet u best ’s avonds na de maaltijd<\/strong> in een rustige omgeving<\/strong> zodat uw hond niet wordt afgeleid.<\/p>\n

STAP 2<\/h3>\n

Ga naast uw hond zitten om een goed zicht op de tanden te hebben. Als u een kleine hond hebt, zet u deze best op uw schoot. Start met de hoektanden en de kiezen<\/strong> omdat zich daar de meeste tandplak vormt. Deze tanden zijn bovendien gemakkelijker te benaderen.<\/p>\n

STAP 3<\/h3>\n

Masseer de binnenkant van de wangen<\/strong> en trek de lippen op<\/strong>, zodat de tanden en het tandvlees zichtbaar zijn. Laat uw hond gedurende enkele dagen hieraan wennen.<\/p>\n

Daarna kunt u zachtjes met uw vinger op de tanden en het tandvlees wrijven.<\/strong> In deze fase poetst u enkel de buitenzijde<\/strong> van het gebit en blijven de kaken op elkaar staan.<\/p>\n

Beloon<\/strong> uw hond na iedere poetsbeurt met een beetje tandpasta<\/strong>. Honden vinden moutsmaak lekker waardoor tandenpoetsen een positieve ervaring wordt.<\/p>\n

STAP 4<\/h3>\n

Na enkele dagen is uw hond stap 3 gewoon en kunt u starten met het poetsen van enkele tanden en het tandvlees met tandpasta op een vingertandenborstel of met een Plaqtiv+ doekje<\/strong>. Bouw dit rustig op en probeer elke dag wat meer tanden te poetsen.<\/p>\n

Als dit goed verloopt, kunt u overstappen op de tandenborstel<\/strong>. Leg uw vinger op de harde kant van de tandenborstel, zodat er geen hard contact is van plastiek met de mondholte. Pas als de hond helemaal gewend is geraakt aan het poetsen, kunt u de muil zachtjes openen om ook de binnenkant van de tanden<\/strong> te poetsen.<\/p>\n

STAP 5<\/h3>\n

Probeer telkens om \u00e9\u00e9n volle minuut per keer<\/strong> de tanden en het tandvlees van uw hond te poetsen.<\/p>\n

STAP 6<\/h3>\n

Kies een rustige omgeving<\/strong> zonder afleiding en plaats uw kat op uw schoot of op een tafel.<\/p>\n

Laat uw kat een paar dagen wennen aan de smaak van tandpasta door hem dagelijks een kleine hoeveelheid tandpasta te laten oplikken<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

STAP 3<\/h3>\n

Nu kunt u zachtjes proberen om met de vinger een beetje tandpasta op de tanden te wrijven<\/strong>. Start altijd met de hoektanden omdat deze gemakkelijker te benaderen zijn. Laat uw kat een paar dagen wennen aan deze aanraking.<\/p>\n

STAP 4<\/h3>\n

Als uw kat stap 3 gewoon is, kunt u voorzichtig proberen om enkele tanden en het tandvlees te poetsen met tandpasta op een vingertandenborstel of met een Plaqtiv+ doekje<\/strong>. Bouw dit rustig op en probeer elke dag wat meer tanden te poetsen.<\/p>\n

STAP 5<\/h3>\n

Probeer telkens om \u00e9\u00e9n volle minuut per keer<\/strong> de tanden en het tandvlees van uw kat te poetsen.<\/p>\n
